Hometown: Denver, Colorado        

 

First music teacher: My father and Leland Andres, my first choir teacher.

 

Biggest musical influences: Nancy Wilson, Bobby McFerrin, Abbey Lincoln, and my Dad.

 

Most memorable show ever seen: My first concert, Parliament Funkadelic. It slayed!!

 

Most unforgettable gig played: Montreux Jazz Fest last year in Switzerland. Incredible energy and the perfect location!

 

Biggest vocal influence: Sarah Vaughan

*Raoul’s – A great hang/food/people watching

*DJ Felix Hernandez Monthly Dance parties — AMAZING old school music, non-stop dancing, pure joy!

*Smoke Jazz Club – Elegant atmosphere, with great sound and musicians.

*Pio Pio – Cheap and cheery Peruvian food that never disappoints. Also great Pisco Sours.

*The Django – A great speakeasy vibe with incredible artists. A hidden gem in the city!

 

Strangest song request ever received: Someone actually asked me to sing “In Them Old Cottonfields Back Home.” That was a hard pass!

 

What’s in store for the rest of 2024: More touring/teaching and releasing my new record.
